The Claims Process Explained

Our representatives work closely with you throughout the process from initial response through final resolution to provide fast, caring service to get you back on the road quickly.

Heres how it works:

Step 1:
Claims reporting is easy. Report a claim by calling 1-866-665-2410. This line is answered 365 days a year and never closes. When we speak our first notice of loss team will gather important details and begin the resolution process. The Claim is assigned to an InsTrust claims representative within one hour.

Step 2:
An InsTrust claims representative will contact you within 12 business hours and schedule a vehicle inspection and let you know what steps will be taken next. We work to have the inspection done as quickly as possible using either a staff appraiser or a third party appraisal company.

Step 3:
The appraiser inspects the vehicle, photographs it and prepares a repair estimate which they forward to the InsTrust claims representative originally assigned the claim.

Step 4:
We help arrange vehicle repair service, towing and a rental car (if covered). Customers with repairable claims can choose to have their car repaired at any facility they choose. We can assist in the selection process if you do not have a preference. The adjuster and repair facility will remain in touch and handle any changes if they occur during the repair process.

Step 5:
The InsTrust claims representative will issue a check to cover the cost of the repair and it will be sent to you before the repair process is completed. Some claim payment checks will include the lien holder information and require their signature prior to cashing the check. This is a required step in order to protect the Lien holder’s interest.

Step 6:
Next you will pick up your car from the repair facility, return the rental car and drive off in a great mood because you know you can count on InsTrust down the road!
